On Feb. 14, NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) Evanston Hospital Kellogg Cancer Center marked five years of the Karen Dove Cabral Foundation’s commitment to improving the lives of mothers with breast cancer.
Thanks to substantial support from the Karen Dove Cabral Foundation, NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center has received a total of $100,000 to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to mothers who struggle to keep up with daily tasks and responsibilities while undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Since 2009, with the Karen Dove Cabral Foundation’s generosity, NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center has provided direct financial assistance to more than 50 women to help them balance the challenges of motherhood with being a patient dealing with a serious, life-changing illness. Donations from the foundation fund non-covered medical expenses such as childcare fees, housecleaning, transportation, exercise and immunity-building nutritional supplements and integrated medicine therapies.
