Community members are invited to take an exclusive look inside the Evanston Water Treatment Facility, 555 Lincoln St., on June 21.
The City’s Utilities Department will provide two tours on a first-come, first-served basis. The first tour will be given from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for residents 15 years and older. A second tour will follow from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for residents with children younger than 15 years of age. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All adults are required to provide photo identification upon checking in.
These tours are available to the first 30 residents who sign up for each group. Registration, which ends June 18, is available by calling 847-448-8198 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Each registrant must provide name, address, contact number and names of those in the group. In the past, water tours have filled up very quickly.
Parking will be available at the Water Treatment Facility via the driveway on the north side of Lincoln Street. Participants should arrive at the facility 20 minutes before the tour start time, as admittance to the facility will not be permitted once the tours have started.
