Would you like to explore a unique and innovative approach to public life and community change? Join the Evanston Public Library in a conversation designed to move our community forward. Using the strategies, tools, and philosophy of The Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, the Evanston Public Library is seeking citizens who are willing to work together to create meaningful change. What aspirations do we share for Evanston? Let’s work together to accelerate positive change.
According to Community Engagement Librarian Jill Skwerski, “There is a lot of energy and information to be mined from new tools for public innovation we’ve begun using at the Library. We want to hear from voices within the community that are not always heard; though, all are welcome, including established community activists. Through deep listening and innovative ways of gathering public knowledge, we plan to uncover shared aspirations and use that knowledge to identify and work towards solutions to pressing problems in our community.”
Sign up for one or more community conversations to be held at the Evanston Public Library on Thursday, May 8, at 10 am, or Sunday, May 18 at 2 pm. Or, a third session will take place on Wednesday, May 28 at 7 pm, at Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Can’t make any of those dates but still interested?
