Carol Dweck to Speak At ETHS on May 9

The Family Action Network (FAN) is sponsoring two events featuring Carol Dweck Ph.D. on May 9. At 4:30 p.m., Dr. Dweck will discuss how a classroom teacher’s enthusiastic and devoted focus on the learning process cultivates a growth mindset in students in an event entitled, “Growth Mindsets and the Wholehearted Embrace of Process.”

At 7 p.m., Dr. Dweck examines learning, motivation, success, failure and resilience in an event entitled, “Go For It: Risk-Taking, Challenge, and the Value of a Growth Mindset.”

The first event is targeted for educators, but notices say both events are free and open to the general public. Both events will be held at Evanston Township High School’s Auditorium, 1600 Dodge Ave.
