On May 8, just after 1 p.m., Evanston police officers responded to call that a suspicious person was in the 900 block of Asbury Avenue. Police learned that a man had attempted to gain entry into a home through a kitchen window. A witness to the incident gave police a description of the offender, and a short time later police located a subject matching the description. The subject made a brief attempt to elude police but was taken into custody and subsequently identified by the witness, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department.
The man, age 28, is from Rolling Meadows, IL, said the Commander. He was charged with Attempt Residential Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools. The man was listed as being on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections for residential burglary, added the Commander.
