The District 65 School Board is hosting a reception for all community members to meet and welcome Dr. Paul Goren as the new superintendent of Evanston/Skokie School District 65. The reception will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (1500 McDaniel Avenue, Evanston). The Regular Board of Education Meeting will be held following the reception at 7:30 p.m. in the JEH Board Room.

“We are fortunate to have had such an involved community in helping select our new superintendent,” said Tracy Quattrocki, Board of Education President. “We are excited for the community to join us in welcoming Dr. Goren to District 65.”

The School Board voted unanimously to hire Dr. Goren as superintendent on March 31. Dr. Goren, a longtime Evanston resident and veteran educator, was selected after a rigorous nationwide search conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates that began last September. Dr. Goren’s first day in District 65 will be on May 19, 2014.
