The Evanston Community Foundation (ECF) will announce the 2014 grant recipients at its annual Grant Awards Celebration at 5:30 p.m. on May 29 in the third-floor atrium and auditorium at One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Ave.

Historically, the yearly grant awards event has focused on recipients of ECF’s annual Responsive Grants program. This year the event celebrates recipients of the full range of ECF grants, including Communityworks, root2fruit, Responsive Grants, Partners for the Future and Community Catalyst Grants.

Rebecca Cacayuran, ECF program officer, said, “We realized many community members were unaware of the broad range of community opportunities and needs that the Foundation supports. We think this new twist on our Responsive Grant awards event will recognize the efforts of all current ECF grantees and provide a snapshot of how Evanston’s nonprofits are making this a more just, vibrant and inclusive community.”

Responsive Grant Award recipients represent a broad range of Foundation grantmaking interests, ranging from early childhood education, community development, family support and counseling, to housing, workforce development, seniors, the arts and basic human needs. These grants are typically for a period of 12 months and focus on projects that fulfill organizational missions.

The event is free and open to the public. Advance reservations are required and can be made by phone at 847-494-0990 or by email to info@evanstonforever.org.
