Evanstonian Tasha E. Ransom received a Meritorious Achievement Award in the Broadcast category of the Herman Kogan Media Awards for her and colleague Anna Davlantes’ series “Ex-Sitter Fights to Get Conviction in Infant Death Overturned.” Ms. Ransom is a producer at WFLDTV/Fox 32 Chicago and WPWR-TV/M50 Chicago.
The story was about Jennifer Del Prete, a daycare worker convicted in 2005 in the shaken baby syndrome case of Isabella Zielinsky, who stopped breathing while in her care. Ms. Del Prete was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
