Evanston Township High School’s Youth Technology Corps (YTC) received over 60 used computers and 40 flat screen monitors this spring through a major donation by Chicago engineering firm Sargent & Lundy. ETHS YTC members will refurbish and prepare these computers for re-donation to nonprofit organizations and individuals in need.
“These Sargent & Lundy computers are the fastest computers we’ve received in a long time,” said ETHS student Alex Ballmer, ETHS YTC president. “We’re so excited to get to work on them.”
Past recipients of ETHS YTC refurbished computer donations include Ebenezer Primm Towers Senior Center, Sunlight African Community Center, Curt’s Café and Fundacion Liyame, a social service agency in Durango, Mexico.
