Honest Theatre, a group of MFA theater artists bringing together years of professional ensemble-based experience, announces it is opening a company dedicated to producing high-quality, free theater experiences to the Chicagoland area. Toward that end, Honest says, it is adopting a “pay-what-you-can” model for all its 2014 performances.
The company is led by Artistic Director Sean Cowan, Managing Director Ashley Manning-O’Dell and Technical Director Britain Willcock. These three, along with a dozen other company members, plan to explore ensemble-based productions that strive to “hold a mirror” up to human nature.
Honest Theatre will open with Theresa Rebeck’s “Spike Heels,” to be performed June 6-8 and 12-15 at Northwestern University’s Mussetter-Struble Theater, 1949 Campus Drive.
