Evanston Police responded to numerous calls of shots fired in the area of 1600 Emerson Street at approximately 6:25 p.m. on Friday, June 6, said Commander Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. Upon arrival, police found a 17 year old male who was shot in the neck. Police were told the victim, an Evanston resident, was with several friends in Gilbert Park; and a single male offender fired several shots from behind some bushes in the area and the victim was struck, said the Commander.
The victim was transported by Evanston Fire and Life Safety Services Paramedics to Evanston North Shore University Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition, said the Commander. There were no other injuries reported, he said.
