“Custer Fair” Returns for 43rd Year

THIS Sat/Sun, June 21-22

Evanston’s oldest & largest outdoor event!

Main entrance: Main Street & Chicago Avenue

Hours: 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. each day

  • The sprawling street fair (formerly known as Custer’s Last Stand Festival of the Arts) is presented by the Piccolo Theatre.   In total, Custer Fair features more than 350 artisans, including local vendors and antique dealers, three entertainment stages including music, theatre and interactive performances; a children’s park with activities and entertainment; and a food corridor on Chicago Avenue with nearly 20 restaurants.

  • Custer Fair’s diverse offerings of arts & crafts include everything from ceramics, paintings and pottery to jewelry, wearable art, antiques, collectibles and much more. The returning “EcoVillage”—located at Sherman and Main and sponsored by Whole Foods Market—will again showcase green and organic products and services.

  • The entertainment at Custer Fair has something for fairgoers of all ages. The Arena Stage (located at Custer Avenue and Washington Street), and the Festival Stage (at Chicago and Main) will feature a  lineup of folk,  jazz, world music and performance artists including acclaimed Chicago singer/songwriter Corky Siegel on Sunday.

  • The Depot Stage, located at 600 Main Street inside the Piccolo Arts Depot at the Main Street Metra Station, will showcase non-stop (and fun) performances for both children and adults from 12:30-5:00 p.m. each afternoon.
