Octogenarian James Draheim remains active and agile on and off the ice. A “semi-retired figure-skater,” as he calls himself, he has coached figure skating, speed-skating and ice dancing since 1958. This summer he coaches in the Robert Crown Center’s free-style skating camp. In celebration of his 80th birthday – and his 30 years of coaching at the Center – his “skating family” threw him a surprise party on July 3.
