Community members are invited to participate in the Evanston Fire & Life Safety Services Department’s inaugural Citizen Fire Academy, beginning Sept. 11.

The 10-week program, designed to give Evanston community members the opportunity to experience emergency services first-hand from a firefighter’s point of view, will consist of classes and discussions held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays through Nov. 13. The course will conclude with a formal graduation for students who complete all of the program’s requirements.

Participants must be at least 21 years old. Registration is first-come, first-served, and space is limited to approximately 20 students.

Registration and additional information are available by visiting cityofevanston.org/cfa or contacting Evanston FAO/Paramedic Tim Gobat at 847-866-5940, or tgobat@cityofevanston.org.
