The City of Evanston has launched Accela Citizen Access (ACA), a web-based portal that provides residents, contractors, and visitors conducting business in Evanston access to building permit information online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ACA portal allows the public to track the status of any building permit application from 2008 to present, view previous inspection results for a variety of building permits, and search for licensed contractors within the City’s database.

To access the online tool, please visit permits.cityofevanston.org. To obtain information on projects prior to 2008, please visit the Community Development Department, Building and Inspection Services Division, Room 3510, located in the Lorraine Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave., Evanston.

The new service is aligned with the City of Evanston’s commitment to provide greater transparency, offer robust online services, and significantly improve response time to the public.

For more information about the ACA portal, please contact Management Analyst Maleka Sumar at 847-448-8266 or call 311 (847-448-4311 outside of Evanston).
