Enacting its belief that every young person deserves access to high-quality summer enrichment programs, Y.O.U. offered a free nine-week program to 450 youth. At the Y.O.U. Summer Showcase on Aug. 7 at Nichols Middle School nearly 300 family and community members joined 75 young people to see the results of their summer experiences. High school youth in Y.O.U.’s Youth Entrepreneurship Summer (YES!) camp presented business pitches; middle school gardeners offered vegetables and seasonings they had grown in Y.O.U.’s garden; and both gave presentations on healthy relationships. Elementary school dancers had the whole room clapping along with their performance.
