Community members are invited to join the Chicago-Dempster Merchant Association and Vinic Wine for a lively neighborhood wine tasting event, beginning at 5 p.m. on Sept. 18. More than 20 local businesses will be pouring tastings of French wines selected and provided by Vinic. A donation of $15 per person will benefit two local charities: the Evanston Art Center and No Boundaries -Train for Work, Train for Life.

The Wine Walk is a wine tasting that moves. Participants can savor the last of the warm weather as they stroll from shop to shop, where each business will pour a 1-2 oz. sampling of a different wine.

“We would like you to join us in raising a toast for a good cause,” says Sandeep Ghaey of Vinic Wine. “We are excited to share our French wine and partner with the Chicago-Dempster neighborhood businesses.”

Chicago-Dempster businesses are Stumble & Relish, Dragonfly, Homestead Meats, Blue Pearl Studio, Paramour Bungalow, Squeezebox Books and Music, Minasian Rugs, Blind Faith Cafe, Lollie Kids Boutique, Shaker Traditions and Union Pizzeria.

Jaime Leonardi of Stumble & Relish says, “The wine walk is the perfect way to showcase the Chicago-Dempster gems and team up with all of our neighbors to support some great organizations.”

No Boundaries – Train for Work, Train for Life, is a workplace training program of the nonprofit service organization Search Inc. On Sept. 18, participants will receive a map of where wine is being served and a wristband from one of these three locations: Blue Pearl Studio, 517 Dempster St.; Paramour Bungalow, 812 Dempster St.; or Vinic Wine, 1509 Chicago Ave. Then they can expand their knowledge of French wines as they toast a good cause.
