Jackie Hamlin is the new coalition coordinator for the Evanston Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (ESAP). She succeeds Miguel Jimenez, who was the previous coordinator for ESAP.

Prior to joining the ESAP Coalition, Ms. Hamlin worked as a community health specialist and program coordinator for the alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) program at the Lake County Health Department/ Community Health Center in Waukegan.

Much of her work was related to tobacco policy, prevention and intervention. She facilitated the Northeastern Illinois Tobacco (NIEL) Control Network Coalition and Partners for Tobacco Free Lake County coalition, coordinated REALITY Illinois youth prevention program, trained healthcare providers on brief tobacco intervention and implementation, and implemented worksite cessation groups.

Ms. Hamlin also worked closely with the prevention services team that focused on alcohol and other drug prevention on various projects.

As a public health graduate, Ms. Hamlin says her passion is prevention, and she is very excited to join the ESAP Coalition and make an impact on the Evanston community.
