The Evanston Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sept. 22, just after midnight at an apartment building in the 800 block of Seward Street. A man, age 29, who resides in the apartment where the shooting took place sustained gunshot wounds in the finger and leg from a single bullet, said Commander Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department. The man was transported by Evanston Fire paramedics to Presence St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The initial investigation indicates that two offenders entered the rear door of the apartment and confronted the victim, said the Commander. Police recovered a small amount of illegal drugs from the scene and this may have been a reason for the incident, he added. “At this time police do not have any indication that this was a random act,” he said.
