The City‘s Forestry Division invites community members to celebrate and support Evanston trees by participating in the “I Heart Evanston Trees” art contest, open to anyone who lives or works in Evanston or who is enrolled in an Evanston-based school.

Participants are asked to submit high-resolution digital images of their original artwork of Evanston trees. Images should be horizontal in orientation. Acceptable media include water color, drawing, mixed media, photography and graphic design. Artwork representing each of the four seasons is encouraged.

Submissions will be accepted through Oct. 20. All entries must contain copyright-free art or art released for the entrant’s or public use. Artwork created by youth age 15 and under will be judged separately from artwork submitted by community members age 16 and older.

The 13 winning entries, to be announced in mid-November, will be used in the 2015 “I Heart Evanston Trees” wall calendar; honorable-mention entries may be included on greeting cards sent out through the City’s “I Heart Evanston Trees” campaign.

Community members can view contest details and submit entries at Questions may be sent to Kumar Jensen, or 847-448-8199.
