YAMO, Evanston Township High School’s annual student revue, opens Oct. 10, for a seven-night run in the school’s Upstairs Theater. Now in its 57th year, this student-run production involves over 100 students as writers, directors, actors, singers, musicians, and stage crew and always draws sell-out audiences.
This year’s laugh-fest, subtitled “Camp YAMO,” relives those cherished childhood trips to summer camp—ghost stories around the campfire, weird campmates—as well as other shared teenage memories such as breaking up, Girl Scout rivalries, and building a better boyfriend, among other targets for humor.
Show dates are October 10, 11, 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25; all performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets at $12 are available online at ETHS’s theater site (www.ethstheatre.com), where patrons can select their own seats and print out their tickets; there will be no “will-call” at the door. Those who wait until show night should call in advance to check ticket availability, 847-424-7130. This show sells out fast!
The Upstairs Theater lobby is handicapped accessible by elevator. Parking for YAMO is best in the school’s rear parking lot; enter off of Lake or Church streets.
