Over the Oct. 11-12 weekend, the Haven Middle School varsity girls and boys cross country teams competed in the IESA Sectional in Arlington Heights. The girls were crowned the champion team (1st place) of the Sectional meet which included 13 highly competitive schools and they advanced to the State meet on Oct. 18 to compete for the State cross country title. The boys team put up an incredible effort and took fourth place, just missing the opportunity to advance to State by one place. However, Haven’s Julian Granzetto (7th grader) did advance as an individual winner and competed in the State meet.
At the State meet in Normal last weekend, the Haven girls placed 11th out of 24 schools.
