Clare Tallon Ruen, founder of Lake Dance, has received a grant to do a year-long project in Evanston public schools about water. Part of the project is to take every third-grader and every sixth-grader to Evanston’s water treatment plant, the dunes at Lighthouse Beach or an Adopt-a-Beach clean-up day or both.  

Anyone can volunteer for any date, for any school. Dates, and times are listed below. Volunteers and people with questions  may contact Ms. Ruen at clare@lakedance.org or 847-721-5402.

Oct. 28, 10 a.m. – noon, Lincoln School, water treatment plant/dunes

Oct. 28, 1-3 p.m., Kingsley School, water treatment plant/dunes

Nov. 5, 10 a.m. – noon, Oakton School, water treatment plant/dunes

Nov. 5, time TBD, Haven School, Adopt-a-Beach

Nov. 10, time TBD, Nichols School, Adopt-a-Beach

There will be additional tours in the spring.
