The City of Evanston’s annual firewood sale starts Nov. 8 at 2310 Oakton St. (between the Recycling Center and the Evanston Animal Shelter). Hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays through the end of February 2015, or until supplies are exhausted.

Payment by personal check is preferred. Payment also can be made with cash; exact change is appreciated. Credit cards are not accepted. Employees will be available to assist with loading firewood into private vehicles, but the City cannot deliver firewood. For more information, call or text 847-448-4311.

Free woodchips are available at the base of the hill in adjacent James Park, accessible by the drive at 300 Dodge Avenue (at Mulford). Residents are welcome to take as many woodchips as they like to use for fall cleanup.
