At the IHSA Regionals on Oct. 25, the ETHS girls cross country team finished 5th and easily qualified for the IHSA Sectionals at Niles West. At the Sectionals on Nov. 1, the Wildkits finished 11th out of 18 teams. The top seven finishers for the Wildkits were: Emma Dzwierzynski (11th place) 18:03; Sophie Levine (49th place) 18:59; Hannah Hayat (69th place) 19:30; Cami Zecker (74th place) 19:36; Gabby Dinsmore (77th place) 19:45; Sophie Hawkins (95th place) 20:14; and Maya Crowe-Barnes (112th place) 20:49.
While the Sectionals meet concluded the season for most of the athletes, the Wildkits were very excited to advance one of their own to the IHSA State meet in Peoria on Nov. 8. Sophomore Emma Dzwierzynski was the 3rd out of 7 individuals to qualify for the State meet.
