Residents are invited to visit Chicago-Dempster merchants on Small Business Nov. 29. Businesses will be kicking off the holiday season and sharing specials with their customers.
A number of businesses will be giving away tote bags with a “Love Local” theme custom-made for the Chicago-Dempster neighborhood: Cooked, Dragonfly, Finders Keepers, Frame Warehouse, Hand Me Downs, Hewn, Lollie, Paramour Bungalow, Pony Shop, Secret Treasures, Shaker Traditions, Soapies Dry Cleaners, Spex, Stumble & Relish, Squeezebox Books & Music and Union Pizza.
“Small Business Saturday is all about supporting the little guy,” says Paulette Leffler of Stumble & Relish. “Our customers love to shop at neighborhood businesses and buy goods from small artisans. It always helps when we can give them something to show their pride.”
In the past two years, the Chicago-Dempster neighborhood has sprouted many new businesses. “The explosion of unique businesses in our neighborhood has made it a really fun destination,” says Tim Peterson of Squeezebox Books & Music.
