The love affair between Evanstonians and their trees continued this fall, as residents and others, ages 3 to 70, submitted a total of 80 entries in the “I Heart Evanston’s Trees” art contest. The artwork and photographs promoted “the vibrancy of Evanston’s trees.”

With the help of a three-member jury panel and contest sponsor Neiger Design, Inc., the City selected 13 winning and six honorable mention entries.  The winning images will be featured in a 2015 wall calendar, and the honorable mention entries will be featured on blank greeting cards.

The winners are Chris Heisinger, Amy Woodbury, Maya Moran, Rob Larson, Keira Walkden, Amanda Kirsch, Barbara Seyfried, Daniela Patino, Eszter Hargittai, Lauren Barber, Natalia Bretones, Kelley Hughes and Faith Laux. Honorable mentions are Elise Barnett, Ashley Malcolm, Ross Amy, David Liao, Olivia Pitman and Sayle Moser.

Calendars and greeting card packs are available for pre-order online at cityofevanston.org/trees, and in-person at Evanston community centers. Calendars are $12 each and six-card packs of greeting cards are $10 each. All proceeds will benefit the “I Heart Evanston Trees” campaign.
