Connections for the Homeless will have Certified ACA (Affordable Care Act) Navigators at local libraries through the spring to help people enroll in the Illinois Insurance Marketplace. Connections was selected by Governor Pat Quinn and the Illinois Department of Public Health as one of the 37 community organizations around the state that will participate in year two of the In-Person Counselor (IPC) program that helps citizens with the ACA enrollment process.

Connections’ IPC Navigators will be available to help with enrollment and answer questions about the ACA, enrollment, small business impact and other related issues at the Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave., in the second floor Newberry Room, with language assistance in Spanish: Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesdays from noon to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
and Sundays 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (except holidays) through March 2015.

All participants should bring proof of identification like a state ID or driver’s license, proof of citizenship or residency like a birth certificate, U.S. passport or resident card (Green Card), full names and birth dates for any family member applying for coverage, social security numbers and/or social security card for any family member applying for coverage, and proof of income like paycheck stubs, W-2 forms or other information about family income.

An appointment is not required but it is recommended. Anyone wishing more
