On Dec. 14, children’s voices filled Alice Millar Chapel, as Evanston Children’s Choir presented its annual holiday concert, celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and the winter season. “Peppermint Winter” and “The Skater’s Waltz” reminded the audience that cold weather, too can be beautiful.

The concert took place on the birthday of choir founder and director Gary Geiger, and, shortly before the end of the concert as he started to direct, the choir – and then the audience – sang “Happy Birthday” to him.
