The Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation has awarded a $24,467 Lowe’s Community Partners grant to the City of Evanston for improvements to the Mason Park Fieldhouse. The City of Evanston will use the grant to upgrade the pre-teen and teen drop-in center.

The kitchenette will be renovated with new cabinets, countertops and sink; casual furniture and a new television will be added for the lounge area; a drinking fountain will be upgraded; and new computer equipment and software will be installed.

Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl said, “Evanston has been recognized as one of the most livable cities in America and it takes pride in making public spaces accessible and accommodating for all community members. We are pleased to have this strong community partnership with Lowe’s and look forward to renovating the Mason Park Fieldhouse.”
