The next two sessions of the series “Navigating Real Life Diversity with Our Kids,” will be held 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 and March 18 at Family Focus, 2010 Dewey Ave. The sessions will be facilitated by Dr. Gilo Kwesi Logan, a diversity and inclusion expert and long-time resident of Evanston.

The Feb. 18 session will “consider the cross-cultural barriers to developing and maintaining friendships across difference and the strategies to bridge the gaps that divide us,” say the sponsors. The March 18 session will cover tools and strategies for building allegiances across communities and reflect on the complex history of race and ethnic relations in Evanston.

The sessions, which are free and open to the public, are sponsored by the PTA Council of Evanston/Skokie in partnership with the Evanston Public Library, Evanston/Skokie School District 65, Youth Organizations Umbrella, Family Focus and YWCA Evanston/North Shore. Child care and Spanish translation will be provided. RSVPs required for child care: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2Z2X3N9.
