Good Morning,

Lake effect snow showers will continue this morning until about 10am.  An additional ½” of new snow possible in spots. Temperatures will fall in the afternoon to single digits and tomorrows weather will be sunny but cold.

As of 7:00am this morning Evanston received between 2.5” to 3” of snow. Lake effect seems to have impacted the south side of the city with the higher amounts. Main roads are clear to slushy in spots.

Today crews will be working on cleaning up the streets, sidewalks and parking lots. Touch up plowing on main roads and secondary’s will occur and then all attention will be shifted to residential streets and every effort will be made to plow curb to curb.

As snow amounts are expected to accumulate below snow emergency levels, additional residential street plowing will likely occur tomorrow.  The focus of which will be clearing any additional parking lanes available from cars that have moved.
