The Evanston Symphony Orchestra continues its 69the season – titled “Romanticism Endures” – at 2:30 p.m. on March 15 at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall on the Northwestern University campus. The program, “American Romantics,” will feature local favorite Desiree Ruhstrat as soloist in two works for violin and orchestra: Samuel Barber’s popular Violin Concerto and Arvo Pärt’s hypnotic “Fratres.” The Romanticism Endures season features works of both the 19th and 20th centuries that exemplify the continuing appeal of Romanticism to both composers and audiences.
