Parents can schedule a play date with nature, exploring the wonders of the Ladd Arboretum through games, crafts, stories, and outdoor play at the Ecology Center.
Play date with Nature is free-style play that allows children to discover which activities they like best and go at their own pace, coming late or leaving early. While drop-ins are welcome (847-448-8256 for availability), pre-registration is encouraged; care-givers are required. Sessions, scheduled for 9:30-11 a.m. March 16, 23 and 30, are $5 each session for residents, $7 for non-residents.
In “After-School Animals” kids ages 5-10 with a caregiver can get connected to one of the Ecology Center’s resident critters, discovering fun facts and getting up close to a different animal each week. Classes are held from 4 to 5 p.m. on March 16, 23 and 30 at the Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd. The cost per session is $5/resident, $7/non-resident Registration is required at 847-448-8256 or at www.cityofevanston.org.
