A “Friday the 13th”-themed private reception greeted the Cradle’s guests at First Look for Charity on Feb. 13.
First Look is the tuxedo-attire benevolent event of the Chicago Auto Show the evening before it opens its public run.
As in previous years, the Cradle threw a party-within-the-party in a reception room one floor above McCormick Place’s main showroom. Chairs Linda and Bill Stasek, Cradle parents and owners of Bill Stasek Chevrolet, and the First Look planning committee sold more than 500 tickets for the event. They filled the reception room with a giant lucky horseshoe and four leaf clovers, as well as black cats, “broken” mirrors and ladders.
First Look raised more than $120,000 for Cradle programs and services in support of Cradle’s mission: to benefit children and all others touched by adoption – by compassionately delivering exceptional education, guidance and lifelong support to build, sustain, and preserve nurturing families.
