Nichols Middle School student Sofia Kennedy, photo at right, is a member of the world champion Trinity Academy of Irish Dance team, which recently won its 17th world title at the World Irish Dance Championships.
The 12-year-old is an honors student at Nichols and is part of the Cecchetti ballet program at the Dance Center of Evanston. She also has volunteered her time at Park School.
The Trinity Academy of Irish Dance has won the most world titles among Irish dance schools in North America.
