I enthusiastically support Anne Sills candidacy for the District 202 School Board.  Anne’s passion for and commitment to Evanston’s two school districts has never wavered.  Anne is an Evanston Township High School (ETHS) graduate and her two grown children are both District 65 and ETHS alums, as well.

Anne’s advocacy efforts began when her children entered Evanston’s public schools.  After several years of active local PTA membership, Anne eventually served as PTA Council President for District 65.  During these years of service, Anne deepened her understanding of and appreciation for the complexities that teachers, students, and administrators face on a daily basis.  As a representative to Education, Research and Development, (ED-RED), considered the voice for suburban schools, Anne substantively increased her knowledge about the funding mechanics for public school systems.  Anne’s committee membership includes activities ranging from participation in Evanston Lobby Day in Springfield to Northwestern University’s Sustainable Food Talks in addition to graduating from Leadership Evanston’s specialized program.

Anne understands the landscape of public school funding and has an excellent working relationship with our state legislators.  As an ETHS School Board member, Anne will use her effective listening skills while considering stakeholder perspectives and will rely on her experience synthesizing comprehensive data to make informed decisions.

Please join me by voting for Anne Sills for the District 202 School Board on Tuesday, April 7th.  Early voting takes places at the Evanston Civic Center March 23 – April 4, 2015.
