On April 4, 2015 at approximately 3:50 a.m., officers from the Evanston Police Department were dispatched to the area of Howard Street and Dodge Avenue in reference to a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers located several spent shell casings in the intersection, but were unable to locate any victims. A short time later, St. Francis Hospital contacted the police department advising that two gunshot victims had come into the emergency room. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victims along with two other occupants had just left a club in Chicago, Illinois and were traveling westbound on Howard Street approaching Dodge Avenue when a vehicle pulled up alongisde and fired several gunshots into their vehicle. The offending vehicle then fled the area southbound on California Avenue into Chicago, Illinois. One victim, a 22-year-old resident of Round Lake Beach was struck in the arm and back and is in good condition. The second victim, a 23-year-old resident of Waukegan was struck in the head and groin area and is in serious but stable condition. Both victims injuries are said to be non-life threatening. Detectives are currently investigating the incident.
