Community members are invited to take a look inside the Evanston Water Treatment Facility, 555 Lincoln St., on May 9.
The City of Evanston’s Department of Utilities will provide two tours on a first-come, first-served basis. The first tour will be given from 9-10:30 a.m. for residents 15 years and older. A second tour will follow from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for residents with children age 6-14 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All adults are required to provide photo identification upon checking in.
Water plant tours are only available to the first 30 people that sign up for each group. Registration must be completed by May 6, by calling 847-448-8198 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. All interested participants must provide their name, address, contact number and names of the individuals attending in their group.
Parking will be available at the Water Treatment Facility via the driveway located on the north side of Lincoln St., between the two buildings. Participants must arrive 20 minutes before the tour start time, as admittance to the facility will not be permitted once the tours have started.
