Evanston community members joined the City of Evanston, Evanston Township High School (ETHS), the Evanston Community Foundation, and Northwestern University (NU) and more than 100 community members to celebrate outstanding volunteers on April 29 at the 11th annual Evanston Volunteer Recognition Reception held at NU. Local organizations and agencies nominated 14 exceptional volunteers who contributed their time and talents to help keep the community vibrant.
A special recognition was made in honor of Northwestern University’s Special Assistant for Community Relations Lucile Krasnow, who has overseen the growth of the reception since its inception. Ms. Krasnow will be stepping down from the event’s planning committee to enjoy retirement after 15 years as Northwestern University’s liaison with Evanston city government, school districts, and business and community groups.
