Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl, third from left, and Third Ward Alderman Melissa Wynne, second from left, joined representatives of Riverside Investment and Development on April 23 for a groundbreaking for the mixed-use development at Chicago Avenue and Main Street.

The nine-story complex, designed by Chicago-based GREC Architects, will have parking and retail on the first two floors and 112 apartments – studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments – on the third through ninth floors.

The developer says the building will be LEED Silver certified, which is a City of Evanston standard, and will have a second-floor rooftop deck with a firepit, grills and a yoga area.
