The annual Evanston Police Awards Night Ceremony held on May 28 in the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center recognized Evanston police officers and civilian staff for their outstanding efforts in the performance of their duties to make Evanston a safer place to live.  Private citizens were also recognized for special achievements while helping the Evanston Police Department solve crime and by making a significant contribution to helping reduce crime.

Police command staff and city officials recognized individuals and police units with various levels of awards including officer of the year, a departmental commendation, the unit citation, a service commendation, the partnership award, the chief’s special award, the award of valor, the fitness award and honorable mentions.

The awards are significant achievements and reflect the high level of performance by recipients in helping Evanston reduce crime and enhance the quality of life in this community.
