New this year, the City of Evanston’s Mental Health Board funding application process is being combined with CDBG Public Services for 2016 funding, and opens June 22, 2015. The CDBG Public Facilities & Infrastructure (capital projects) and Housing Applications are not affected and will open July 6; information will be available on or before June 26.

CDBG Public Services & Mental Health Board Funding
The City of Evanston’s Housing and Community Development Act Committee (HCDA) and Mental Health Board (MHB) are accepting applications for 2016 Community Development Block Grant-Public Services (CDBG-PS) and Mental Health Board (MHB) funds through a new, combined application process. CDBG-PS and MHB funds are allocated annually for programs and services that address the needs of Evanston’s at-risk residents, primarily lower income individuals and families. Applicants may apply for CDBG-PS, MHB, or BOTH using this single application.

To be considered for funding, an organization’s representative (staff, board member or other volunteer) must attend one of two pre-application orientation meetings. The CDBG-PS & MHB application is a two-stage process in ZoomGrants. All applicants must complete and submit the pre-application in ZoomGrants by 4 p.m. CDT on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Applicants will be notified via an email from ZoomGrants if they are approved or denied for a full application by noon on July 22; those approved may begin work on their application immediately following notification. Full applications must be completed and submitted in ZoomGrants by 4 p.m. CDT on Friday, August 21, 2015 in order to be considered for either CDBG-PS or MHB funds.
