The last week of June finally seemed like summer, with two days of sunshine – perfect weather to enjoy the annual Fountain Square Art Festival in downtown Evanston. More than 150 juried artists showcased paintings, photographs, ceramics, metal sculptures, jewelry and woodwork.
At the children’s booth, tiny fingers crafted magic wands, while next door families added their touches to the interactive community project – a painting of the lighthouse.
On Saturday evening, Smylie Brothers, Sketchbook Brewing Company and Temperance Beer Company offered free tastings of some of their craft beers – and full-size pours at a generous price.
The rain held off until Sunday evening.
