Evanston Police Department Deputy Chief Jay Parrott was honored as the “Police Officer of the Year” by the Shomrim Society of Illinois at their 56th annual awards event last week.
The Society recognized Deputy Chief Parrott for his distinguished career in law enforcement that began in high school, when he was named the Chicago Police Department “Explorer of the Year,” and continued as he received numerous awards and accommodations as he rose through the ranks during his career with the Evanston Police Department.
Deputy Chief Parrott has served in the patrol division, problem solving team and media affairs and is currently the Deputy Chief of the Investigations Division. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy as well as Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command.
