YWCA Evanston/North Shore was awarded $15,000 for its Comprehensive Domestic Violence Services from the General Fund at Chicago Foundation for Women.

The YWCA Evanston/North Shore operates the only comprehensive domestic violence services program in northeastern Cook County, and has taken a leadership role in the development of a community-based High Risk Response Team (HRRT). Currently in formation, the team will bring together law enforcement and criminal justice professionals, hospital staff and social service agencies to identify women at the highest risk, with a goal of decreasing homicides and re-assaults, and connecting victims more quickly with essential resources and referrals.

CFW grantees in freedom from violence portfolio are committed to supporting some of the most vulnerable women in Chicago.

As a leader in the delivery of domestic violence services in northeastern Cook County, the YWCA Evanston/North Shore is in the process of expanding its domestic violence services by helping survivors find transitional and permanent housing and successful employment.
