Community members are encouraged to attend the annual Evanston Lakeshore Arts Festival on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year, the festival returns to its original location, Dawes Park, located on Sheridan Rd. at Church St., in Evanston. The event is free and open to the public.
The nationally-recognized juried fine arts and crafts festival showcases work from more than 100 artists in 11 categories, including photography, jewelry, painting, wood, ceramics, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet artists and purchase their work, have fun at the Children’s Crafts Tent, and participate in a silent art auction.
Attendees will also enjoy various genres of live music, including classical, jazz, blues, Chicago swing, and Motown. To view a complete schedule of performances, please visit cityofevanston.org/lakeshore.
This year, the festival will host 9 restaurants serving a variety of culinary delights, including gourmet pies, real fruit smoothies, crab cake platters, tandoori chicken, tamales, and Greek shish kebobs.
The Lakeshore Arts Festival is sponsored by Valli Produce, Renewal by Andersen, The Homestead, Quince Restaurant, Evanston RoundTable, City of Evanston, WDCB 90.9 FM, Illinois Arts Council, Chicago Reader and the Evanston Review.
