The District 202 School Board approved the appointment of Mary Rodino as the District’s Chief Financial Officer effective July 1, 2016 upon the retirement of William Stafford.  The appointment was approved unanimously after a recommendation by District 202 Superintendent Eric Witherspoon at the Sept. 15 School Board meeting.

Ms. Rodino served as the District’s Deputy Chief Financial Officer since 2007 and as the Interim Finance Director for the City of Evanston prior to joining ETHS. As the current Deputy Chief Financial Officer and District Treasurer, Ms. Rodino leads the District’s annual audits and Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). During her tenure at District 65, she has also been responsible for managing the general ledger, administering grant applications and expense reports, managing bank reconciliations, as well as managing cash, investments and banking programs for the District.

In order to ensure a smooth transition in the oversight of school finances, Ms. Rodino will continue to work closely this school year with current CFO William Stafford.  Mr. Stafford, who was lauded for serving District 202 with distinction for the past ten years, will retire at the end of the 2015-16 school year.

“Mary Rodino is an accomplished finance official. We are fortunate that she will be our next CFO,” said Dr. Witherspoon. “Her experience and expertise will be valuable for our District as we work through the financial challenges created by the State of Illinois.”

Ms. Rodino holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Valparaiso University, an M.B.A. with a concentration in management from Northeastern Illinois University, and a Type 75 certification in the State of Illinois with a Chief School Business Official Endorsement.
