Community members are invited to tour the Water Treatment Facility, 555 Lincoln St., on Oct. 10.

The City of Evanston’s Department of Utilities will provide two tours on a first-come, first-served basis. The first tour will be given from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for residents 15 years and older.

A second, “child friendly” tour will follow from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for residents with children age 6 years or older. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All adults are required to provide photo identification upon arrival.

Water facility tours are limited to the first 30 people who sign up for each group, and all must be Evanston residents.  Registration is by phone at 847-448-8198 or email at water@cityofevanston.org; the deadline is Oct. 7. Walk-in registration will not be available. Participants should arrive at least 20 minutes early.

All participants must provide their name, address, phone number and the names of all the individuals who will be attending in their group. Parking will be available at the Water Treatment Facility via the driveway located on the north side of Lincoln Street between the two buildings.
