The Kiwanis Club of Evanston recognized three fine arts students from Evanston Township High School for their involvement in the school’s annual production of YAMO. Honorees are Ryan Foreman, Fiona Hessert, and Liz Michael.
Ryan served as YAMO’s general director this year and has been an actor in the ETHS theater program. He acknowledges the challenges of combining school work and theater participation. Also captain of the ETHS tennis team, Foreman plans to study medicine and theater in college.
Fiona learned all facets of stage production for YAMO and she considers fellow YAMO participants as family. She plans to study environmental studies and theater in college.
Involved in the ETHS theater program since freshman year, Liz worked as a designer for YAMO. She credits the program with helping her to meet others.Her plan is to continue studying set design in college.
The Ted Van Zelst award was named for a prominent Evanston businessman, entrepreneur and humanitarian.Awardees received a certificate of recognition, a book on leadership, and a gift card.
